The Nominating Committee
In accordance with the Credit Union bylaws (Section 3.06c), “the chairman of the board with board approval shall appoint a nominating committee of not less than three credit union members in good standing.” Board Chairman Rex Andrews made the required appointments: Patsy Wilson, Dewain Collins, and Vicki Ritcherson.
Nominations by the Nominating Committee
As directed by Credit Union bylaws (Section 3.06c), “it shall be the duty of the nominating committee to nominate at least one member for each board vacancy, including any unexpired term, for which elections are to be held.” The committee nominates the following members for a three-year term: Kenneth Ballard and Bob Clemmons.
Nominations by Petition Procedure
In addition to candidates nominated by the Nominating Committee, the Credit Union bylaws (Section 3.06c) state that, “nominations for vacancies may also be made by petition.” The petition must nominate a member and include a written description of his or her qualiﬁcations and must be signed by 2% of members in good standing (or 432 members). The Credit Union Board Secretary must receive any signed petition prior to 5:00pm on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 8401 Quaker Avenue, Lubbock, Texas 79424. On the petition is an Agreement to Serve, that must be signed, certifying that the petitioner is willing to serve for the term nominated. In accordance with the Credit Union bylaws (Section 3.06d), “there will be no nominations from the floor and the election will not be conducted by ballot when there is only one nominee for each position to be filled.”
In accordance with Board policy, any new business for the Annual Meeting must be submitted in writing to the Secretary of the Board by Thursday, April 12, 2018. New business submitted in writing to the Secretary will be responded to in writing at the Annual Meeting. There will not be a call for new business at the meeting.

Nominees by the Nominating Committee
Kenneth D. Ballard
Mr. Kenneth D. Ballard has been a Lubbock resident for 53 years. He attended schools in LISD and graduated from Coronado High School. He attended South Plains College in Levelland and Texas Tech University. He has been employed by Farmers Cooperative Compress for 33 years. Currently, he is the Plant Manager in Plainview, TX. He has served on the finance committee for St. Luke Methodist, a member of the Southwest Cancer Center committee, and a member of Farmers Cooperative Compress Executive Committee. Mr. Ballard has been a member of Alliance Credit Union for 16 years. He is ready to accept the challenges of becoming a board member. He will strive to make the credit union better for the members and the future of the credit union.
Mr. Bob Clemmons has been a Lubbock resident for 51 years. He attended Kilgore Community College and Texas Tech University. He worked for the Lubbock Scottish Rite for 13 years. He is currently retired and devotes his time to the credit union. He served on the Scottish Rite Dormitory Board and the Foundation Board in Waco for several years. Mr. Clemmons has been a member of the credit union for 6 years. His goal as a board member will be to maintain the positive direction toward which the credit union is moving. He wants to see the credit union flourish.
